Cameroon Protestant College (CPC)  was built in 1949 by Swiss missionaries, and is presently run by local Presbyterian and Baptist churches. In 1902 three Swiss missionaries, Messrs Ernst, Keller and Schuler paid a visit to King Fonyonga from Bali Nyonga and requested to set up a station and open a school in Bali. Following negotiations, a mission station was finally created in 17 May 1903. The Basel mission began by converting locals to Christianity and also created a primary school. CPC Bali began in 1949 all boys. A high school section was later on added. Initially the running of the school was in the hands of principally German/ Swiss missionaries, with Gustav Adolf Vielhauer playing a very big role. In 1972, girls were introduced into high school. The motto of the college is: God, Knowledge, Service. CPC aims at training students from all backgrounds, rich and poor. Fees from the students and money from the church cannot completely take care of the school. The running of the school is therefore heavily subsidised by ex-students under an alumni association called Bali Old Boys and Girls Association (BOBA).
